Standalone MS Paint program that allows you to get your old XP Paint interface in Windows 7.
The change in the user interface with the Windows 7 was the introduction of the ribbon interface. That is actually quite useful for any program you are going to use for the first time. However, if you have been using the XP kind of interface for a long time, the changeover, needing unlearning and then learning of the new kind UI, can be quite daunting. This affects you at two levels. Finding your way around the ribbon to find the features you have been using will be quite a pain. Then, finding the newer features is a pain at another level. This program makes things easy for you for the Paint program. With this tool installed, you get the look and feel of the older version of the paint program.
The Paint program supplied with the Windows 7 is like the other applications with a ribbon interface. The classical Paint has been around for a long time through several versions of the Windows. These had the same classic interface and thus there will be a substantial percentage of users who are too used to this interface. It will be quite a hassle for such die-hard users of the older interface to change. If you do decide to change over, you could have the latest version also installed with the ribbon interface. This tool does not cause any problems in running both versions at the same time. Once you graduate to the ribbon version, you could then shut this one up. Good tool to have around if you have been using the older interface for a long time.
